TACK TOREN

Een nieuwe bijbouw door architecten Ahtergael in samenwerking met architect Stéphane Beel aan de reeds bestaande brouwertoren Tack werd gebouwd tussen 1994 en 1999. Voor een functiewijziging van het gebouw tot een productiehuis zijn enkele ingrepen aan het oorspronkelijke pand vereist, maar de bestaande constructie en de verschillende ruimtes ervan worden behouden. Strikt functionele ruimtes zoals een toegangstrap, lift, en sanitaire uitrusting worden voorzien in het nieuwe bijkomende volume. Dit volume is een 3 meter dikke schijf over de volledige breedte en hoogte van de brouwertoren en wordt zo de verticale foyer.

A new extension by architects Ahtergael in collaboration with architect Stéphane Beel to the already existing brewery tower Tack was built between 1994 and 1999. A change of function of the building into a production house requires some changes to the original building, but the existing structure and its various spaces are retained. Strictly functional spaces such as an entrance staircase, elevator and sanitary facilities are provided in the new additional volume. This volume is a 3 metre thick disk over the full width and height of the brewery tower and thus becomes the vertical foyer.
