DE KREUN

De nieuwe modulaire popconcertzaal gebouwd voor De Kreun vzw, dat tegenwoordig Het Wilde Westen vzw heet, is vormgegeven door DIAL architecten tussen 2007 en 2009 (en in 2018). Het is een project in opdracht van de Stad Kortrijk voor het Muziekcentrum TRACK. De zaal biedt plaats voor 600 (staande) toeschouwers. De zaal is voorzien van een u-vormig balkon, een vaste en een mobiele bar.  Door de zichtbare ribben op de gevel, uitgevoerd in wit beton, worden de vibraties die van binnen komen sterkt gedempt, ze werken zoals een transformator. Zo is het mogelijk om binnen versterkt akoestische concerten te geven. Bovendien zit in de gevelplinten een trillende en lichtgevende kunstinstallatie verwerkt die het ritme aangeeft. Door de brugverbinding met het muziekcentrum is het mogelijk om openluchtconcerten en zomerbars te organiseren op het dakterras.

The new modular pop concert hall built for De Kreun vzw, now called Het Wilde Westen vzw, was designed by DIAL architects between 2007 and 2009 (and in 2018). It is a project commissioned by the City of Kortrijk for the TRACK Music Centre. The hall offers space for 600 (standing) spectators. It has a U-shaped balcony, a fixed and a mobile bar.   Because of the visible ribs on the facade, made of white concrete, the vibrations coming from inside are strongly dampened, they work like a transformer. This makes it possible to give amplified acoustic concerts inside. In addition, the façade plinths incorporate a vibrating and luminous art installation that indicates the rhythm. The bridge connection with the music centre makes it possible to organise open-air concerts and summer bars on the roof terrace.
