De Bauhaus Universiteit in Weimar heeft een illustere geschiedenis die helemaal teruggaat tot in de 19^de eeuw.

De school was oorspronkelijk opgericht als een gilde van ambachtslieden zonder klassenverschil en om de arrogante barrière tussen ambachtsman en kunstenaar  te doen verdwijnen. De school werd een gecombineerde school/academie  voor architectuur, ambachten en kunst.

Wil je meer te weten komen over de historische roots en de geschiedenis van Bauhaus opgericht door architect Walter Gropius in 1919, dan kan je deelnemen aan een Bauhaus wandeling  waarbij de studenten je rondleiden in de gebouwen ontworpen door Belgisch Art Nouveau architect Henry van de Velde.  Het Bauhaus Atelier /de Info Shop Café bij het bezoekers informatiecentrum is niet alleen maar een verkoopruimte voor souvenirs, kleding, boeken  maar dient ook als platform voor innovatieve producten, gecreëerd door de ontwerpers van de universiteit. De grote verscheidenheid geeft het creatieve, onconventionele en veelzijdige profiel weer van de universiteit.

 

The Bauhaus Universität Weimar has an illustrious history that goes back to the 19^th century. 

The school was originally founded as a guild of craftsmen, without the distinction of class and to make disappear the arrogant barrier between craftsman and artist.
