“De Kompaan is a place that offers a variety of workshops on baking, cooking, picking fruits, and building. As interns at De Kompaan, Tözün and Yağız, we’re continuing to develop the Antwerpen Plukt project, which we started working on as a school Project with our classmates from Space&Service Design programme.

Our first task while approaching to this project was to start from where we left off from our last presentation and place all the projects made by our classmates in a complete user journey. Currently, we are focusing on developing a matchmaking system aims to make a match between a tree owner and a volunteer, so that volunteers can go and pick fruits from their garden.

In addition to our focus on sustainable food consumption, we are also working on developing a strong branding strategy that will increase attraction and motivation for both tree owners and volunteers to participate in the Antwerpen Plukt project. We are also committed to ensuring that we respect the privacy of all participants in the project.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve already made great progress on the Antwerpen Plukt website and recently presented our work to project partners. It’s been a fantastic experience working on this project, and we’re excited to continue to deliver a successful outcome for our internship. We’re passionate about making a positive impact and are committed to ensuring that the Antwerpen Plukt project achieves its goals.

Massive thanks to the De Kompaan for having us!”

“I’m beyond excited to be part of the small yet powerful team of Twisted Studio. It consists of 3 amazing ladies: Lies, Marlies and Evelien who have done the greatest job at making me feel at home in the company. This welcoming and warm environment has allowed me to hit the ground running and focus on the project at hand.

I have the opportunity to work on a project for the health insurance fund Solidaris. In this project we work with young co-researchers, whom I will guide in the process. I’m grateful for this opportunity and I’m proud to have a bit of the project led by me.

Next to this project, I have been fortunate enough to attend multiple workshops and interviews. These experiences have been both interesting and enriching, and I am excited to learn as much as I can during her internship.

I’m curious and excited to see what’s next in this internship!

Many thanks to Twisted Studio for having me.”

I’m excited to introduce you to the amazing company and colleagues I’m working with at Gelo, a human-centered design studio. It’s been about a month since I started my internship, and I’m having a wonderful time as part of their design team.

In my first week at Gelo, I was lucky enough to go on a site visit and see firsthand how Gelo’s design philosophy translates into real-world applications. It was an incredible experience, and I’m eager to continue learning from and contributing to the team at Gelo.
During my time at Gelo, I’ve had the opportunity to enroll in multiple interesting projects, and it’s been great to see the amount of work that goes into every concept development.

I’m grateful for the warm welcome and the support and guidance provided to me during my first weeks at Gelo. This internship is providing me with valuable skills and experiences that will shape my future career in design. Thanks again to Gelo for having me as part of their passionate and hardworking team!

“I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Equals Three, an innovation agency that helps future-driven companies achieve ongoing commercial success through innovation design and M&A services. As an intern, I serve as a service designer and work on exciting projects that blend both digital and physical design.

So far, I’ve had the opportunity to get involved in ongoing projects, conduct research, and work together with others on creating user journeys and user flows, as well as the touchpoints that are associated with them.

It has been an amazing experience to be a part of the dynamic environment at Equals Three. The enthusiastic team has made it effortless for me to integrate into the innovative design department and feel like a valued member.

Fun fact they recently changed their company name from Absintt to Equals Three, as well as their brand identity!”

“I’m thrilled to be interning at RetailOffice as a Product and Service Designer. Together with the team, we’re developing customized commercial real estate solutions for retailers.

My role involves user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and conducting user testing to ensure the final product meets the user’s needs. Additionally, I’m collaborating with the team to create a customer journey map to identify areas of improvement in the user experience.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at RetailOffice, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented team. Over the last several months, Erick has been applying the knowledge and expertise he acquired during the year.

During my time at Bundl, I have been fortunate to work on a range of challenging projects about innovation that truly pushed me to grow and learn. One of the most exciting aspects of these projects was the opportunity to collaborate and innovate with very known corporations in various fields, which allowed me to gain new perspectives and expand my knowledge.

On the other side what really made my experience at Bundl stand out, is the company culture. From the moment I joined the team, I felt welcomed and supported by everyone around me. The friendly and young environment with a very supportive atmosphere made it easy for me to approach my colleagues with any questions or concerns, and I always felt like my contributions were valued.

During the previous months, Iman has been utilizing the knowledge and expertise that he acquired throughout the year.

“During my ongoing internship at PIN Company, which started in March, I have been working on projects that focus on improving the quality of education and supporting parents of students with a history of immigration.

My responsibilities include conducting research, developing strategies, and ultimately creating a service to address the needs of these communities. One of the key aspects of my work has been analyzing collected data, conducting interviews, surveys, and participating in meetings with other groups to exchange information and expand our understanding.

PIN Company fosters a collaborative environment where different groups with diverse projects are accessible to each other, and there is a culture of freedom in seeking help and guidance. The work environment at the company is highly collaborative, with colleagues hailing from diverse countries and possessing unique skill sets.
So far, I have participated in more than 5 group meetings, not only to review the progress of the projects but also to gain confidence and comfort in my role.”

Katrijn has been making use of the knowledge and expertise she acquired throughout the year in the recent months.

“Everybody meet POM Antwerpen, the company that gave me an internship to remember. POM Antwerpen is short for Provinciale OntwikkelingsMaatschappij Antwerpen (provincial development corporation Antwerp). POM is a company that focuses on executing projects related to space (business lots & office space) and entrepreneurship. The department where I work is located in Niel at the university of antwerp science park.

During my internship I only have one big assignment and that is to do a feasibility study on coworking spaces in the science park. Since POM isn’t a service design studio this is a task that I have to do individually with the guidance from my internship leader.

By working on my own I learned how to use the tools better, how to manage my time in an efficient way and how to truly work in a professional setting. I can proudly say I now have a better understanding of what it means to be a service designer.

Many thanks to POM Antwerpen for having me.”
